M&Ms
Chapter Ten
By Crystal

"Sass, meet Nick. Nick, this is my sister Ariana, or as we all know her, Sass."

"Pleasure to meet you Sass," Nick smiled as he extended his hand to the young girl.

"Would you excuse us for a moment please? Thanks so much," Sass said sweetly before pulling me by my hand to a secluded area. "What the hell are you doing with a Backstreet Boy Brash?"

I rolled my eyes. "He's just a regular guy Sass."

"No Brash, he's like my idol, okay? How did you get to be so damn lucky? Oh! The autograph! While you were getting his autograph you were being chummy with him weren't you?"

"God no!" I screeched in defense. "I did everything I could to get away from Dick.. I mean, Nick." I looked down at my sister's outfit. She looked so cute in a halter dress and platform sandals. "Is that the outfit I got you for your birthday?" I asked.

"Yes it is and don't even try and change the subject missy! We will continue with our conversation later. But for now, that boy is hella good looking and I'm going to enjoy talking his ear off. Now excuse me," she laughed, heading over to Nick. I watched as she slipped her arm around one of his and start walking off with him. I rolled my eyes and walked behind them.

By the time we got to the baggage claim they were chatting away like old buds. Not only was it quite ironic, but quite hilarious.

"So you were the Nick that was on the phone the other day?" she asked.

"Yep, that was me."

"I should have known! But I wouldn't have. Brash hates you so much it's almost funny! But obviously her feelings have changed. I wonder why she even let you speak to her in the first place. Was she all mean to you? I hope to God she didn't call you Dick! Oh my god! Did you call him Dick Brash? I'm so sorry she's just like that. Calling you Dick and Boy Wonder and Blondie. I think it's because she didn't want to admit that she really does like you. Or maybe that's a good thing, but anyways the point is now that she's not spewing out green venom at you. At least not anymore, from the looks of things. Brash why are you walking so slowly? Come and join our conversation. So anyways, as I was saying…"

Twenty minutes later we were walking up to my new BMW.

"I call shot gun!" Sass announced as I unlocked the car.

"Hey, I have permanent shot gun!" Nick interjected.

"You do?" I asked, looking at him as if he were an insane clown.

"I do!" he finalized.

"Shoot, whatever. Get your butt in the back." I leaned the front seat in so that nick could crawl in the back. I watched as he stuffed his six foot one body into the small backseat. "Uh uh, this isn't going to work. Sorry Sass but I'm going to have to insist that you get in the back. His legs are going to punch through my seat or something awful like that. Let Nick sit in the front."

"Ok" she agreed. They switched spots and when we were all settled in I opened the top of the car.

"Brash, it's one in the morning, why do you have the top down?" she asked, confused.

"It's 97 degrees with humidity outside Sass. Trust me, this is best for all of us."

"You have got to be kidding me! Well, as long as I don't melt I'll be fine. Oh my god! What did you do, buy a whole Seven Eleven! I hope these are up for grabs because I'm a mad hungry woman right now!"

"Didn't you eat on the plane Sass? Wait, bad question. Terrible plane food."

"Yeah. They had to nerve to call that piece of doo doo lasagna. I was so insulted. But there was a cute guy sitting next to me on the plane. But I lost interest when he got interested in the boring movie they were playing. So tell me all about your new job Brash!"

"It's nothing flashy. I'm an assistant to a photographer."

"Have you met anyone famous yet?" she asked excitedly. "Well, except for present company, of course." Nick looked back at her and smiled.

"If I have I honestly wouldn't know it. Although there was this guy, a model. I'm not sure if he's famous though."

"What's his name?" she asked as she munched on some Doritos.

"Um, Erik Sterling."

"Oh! Yeah, he's really really cute," she commented. I gave Nick a sideways glance, but he was too busy staring out his window to notice.

"Yeah, I have a date with him this Friday."

"Yeah, right!" she laughed.

"Seriously. He asked me out. So I said yes."

"Okay, your life is a young girls' dream. You're friends with Nick and going out with a model? What next?"

"They're just people Sass!" I said firmly. "They're not any more special than you and I are. Speaking of special, I showed Nick your talent show tape."

"YOU DID WHAT?!" she screeched.

"She showed me the tape of you singing at the talent show. It was really good Sass," Nick told her. Sass looked at him with wide eyes.

"You have no idea how embarrassed I am right now," she spoke softly, blushing.

"Why?" he laughed. "Most people are flattered when they're complimented."

"No, it's not that."

"Tell me then, what is it?" He turned around in his seat so that he was facing her.

"Well it's just that it's one thing for her to show it to her regular loser friends, but to a professional singer, one I happen to deeply admire, that's embarrassing. Not to mention extremely intimidating."

"Sass, you have nothing to worry about. I think you have an amazing talent. I was touched that you sang one of my songs. It was…. Spellbinding."

"Really?" she asked.

"Really. In fact, if you want, just for fun, I'll take you to my house, where I have a recording studio, and I'll let you record some stuff."

"OHMYGODAREYOUSERIOUS? THANKYOUSOMUCH! OHMYGODYOUAREMYBESTFRIEND! ILOVEYOUMAN!" she yelled, excitedly.

"Way to go Nick, now she'll never get to sleep."

"Well of course you're going to stay with us tonight, right Nick?"

"Well now that's up to Brash. She does have work tomorrow."

"It's fine with me. Just don't bug me while I'm sleeping."

"Oh, you so should not have said that Brash!" she giggled. I rolled my eyes. This week is going to be looooooooong.
